For example I use micro crochet hooks for undoing knots if I go wrong (I know a lot of crocheters who have never attempted micro crochet so FINALLY something to use them for!) Also clean nail varnish is really good for bookmarks/ keychains if the excess string keeps sticking out.

I undo knots by either using my nail or I mainly use a safety pin 🧷

i dont make my knots tight at all. im usually able to just pull past of the string with my fingers or fingernails

Small micro fiber towel... if you put a safety pin in it and drape it over your lap it works great for holding your bracelet whilst you work! Hope this isn't confusing...

I always use a sewing needle to undo my knots, but when i need something portable to put my bracelet on, i use the lid of a storage container, as it was the only thing I had at the time 😂

I use the end of a thread cutter to untie! I think its easier to use as you get more leverage rather than fiddling about with a small pin or needle. And of course I use it to cut my threads, so it's convenient because I'll have it on hand anyway!

I have a cutting mat that has measurements on it on my clipboard. It is really helpful when I am making normal bracelets so that I can be sure that they are long enough.

@digltal6 omg I do that! Never heard of anyone else who does it but I love not requiring tape. It also helps to use that hole in the clip to secure my base strings so when I make my first row they are secure.

Not random but it is specific. I use various craft scissors in my bracelet making. The big scissors are for cutting the tassels or excess strings of a wide bookmark. My regular size scissors are for cutting strings before knotting and my smaller scissors are for cutting the excess strings before off after the ties are done as well as cutting excess strings off of the back

Hi!Some of my random items that I've collected to help me: - Magnets to hold blunt needles for undoing knots (one inside a clipboard, one set in a soy-sauce tiny dish near where I typically sit and work) - a book light - a lap desk - a lightweight thin plastic ruler that came out of a planner - goes inside of the bracelet-makers I made out of hollow clipboards - a needle-threader to get the strings through the the button holes that I use in my closures - athletic tape to protect friction spots on my fingers - a rotary tool or an awl to open the button holes a bit for my braids - "fray check" - a type of material glue that prevents frays in fabric, used at the point that I trim any tails of string away from the back of the bracelet (uneven number of strings of a color) Then theres the classic tools: scissors, measuring tape, bracelet-maker clip boards, tablet with the pdfs of the marked up patterns I've chosen, buttons and strings 😍 , comfy chair, music or a good TV showm ha! |
