Can DMC embroidery threads be used to make a macrame bracelet with beads?

Hello, I'd like to make a macrame bracelet but I only have DMC embroidery threads. Does anyone know if they're suitable for macrame?

I would say so! I haven’t personally tried making a macrame bracelet before, but I see tons of pictures of them all the time. @goldflower has a lot of macrame patterns and photos posted of other macrame patterns if you’d like to see some examples!

I've used embroidery floss for most of my macrame bracelets and I think it works fine.I did have some white crochet yarn that I used a couple times but it wasn't very good for macrame, I mostly used that for test purposes. You can see the difference in my picture of #124836 the white yarn made it a little bigger than the blue embroidery floss bracelet A lot can also depend on what size beads you have, what pattern you're making and where the beads will fit in that pattern. When I made #124836 with embroidery floss the beads I had looked too big so I didn't use them You'll also need something to thread the beads on the floss, a beading needle, I use a thin piece of wire, or you can glue the ends of your floss to make it stiff enough to go through the beads |

Thank you for your response 🙂In my case, I would like to make a simple macrame bracelet, like a shimballa bracelet (do you know it?) with small or medium-sized beads. Do you think DMC threads are suitable for this? Having never done macrame before, I don't know if they'll be suitable because I can't estimate, but I don't want to waste anything... 🙁 Thank you again for advices 🙂 |

I think you want to make something like this? #124536 it's just square knots with beads. If you want it to be thicker you could use macrame cord or paracord or even double or triple up the embroidery floss but if all you have is embroidery floss it will absolutely work with just that
