What kind of dowel rods do you guys use for wall hangings and other creations? What size do you buy? Do you tend to buy longer ones, and then cut them to the length you want, or just buy the length you want? Where do you get them from? I don’t really have intentions of starting a wall hanging anytime soon, just curious as to what everyone does!

i haven’t finished a wall hanging yet, so idk some of the questions, but i did start one and bc i’m broke and it works the same, instead of buying dowels i used a wood chopstick from a sushi place, it’s working great so far!

I know masha knots uses the 4mm wooden dowels! idk if this helps

I use those long huge wooden skewers for roasting marshmallows and just cut to my preferred length for the pattern.

i get dowel rods from like michael’s or hobby lobby (they might not be near you based on where you live), and they’re like 4 feet long so i cut it to whatever i need!
