But as I understood it, when you’re ready for your new color, put the old string up out of the way. Do one half knot with your new color (forward or backward depending on which way you’re coming from). Then lay that string up. Bring your old color back and lay it across the rest of your base strings under where you’ll knot the new color again and it should be knotted in the new color and then just lay it back

I know that sounds like a lot I was doing it step by step with her and even had to say the steps out loud for the first few attempts

And I did it like 5 times on the base strings so I could really get it down. It’s such an easy pattern and repeating it is cute and a fun way to learn 🙂 good luck!!! Can’t wait to see the results!
