i don't own a clip board and also i use the loop so i usually clip the loop to my book bag or a piece of fabric with a saftey pin.

@FANGIRL88 if you have a binder clip, you can use it to create a makeshift clipboard by using it to clip the bracelet to a book.

In general, you don't need to worry too much about the strings tingling. You only need to untangle the ones you are currently working with.
