help with bracelets with odd numbers of colors

hi! I'm confused about how to begin & tie off the strings of a bracelet with odd numbers of colors. I've been tying all my bracelets with a loop of the thread and braiding the ends, but the patterns that have one string of one color (ex. #118155 ) make my brain hurt. my solution as of right now is to maybe use a small lobster clasp, but I'm afraid patterns with a lot of strings may or may not actually fit though the loop on a small clasp. is the answer bigger clasps or jump rings or a particular tying technique?
