Hi all! I have been making wall hangings for a while, but never know how to end them. I tend to group the ends of the strings in groups with a few square knots, but I don't love the way that looks. If there's a way to make the bottom of them flat, I'd love some tips! Other suggestions are also great 🙂

I'm making one for a gift for the first time (rather than keeping it myself) so I want it to be as good as possible. For reference, the pattern I'm using is #124144

I'm not quite sure how you could make the bottom completely flat, the only thing i can think of is cutting the strings and gluing them to the back? But i don't think that would work very well. Other options might be a tapestry end which kinsey b has a tutorial for on youtube:

Or you could end the wallhanging similar to how a lot of people will end keychains, kinsey also shows how to make it at around 7:45 in her alpha keychain tutorial:

I normally like doing tapestry ends, that will turn out quite flat and after a few minutes it becomes really easy. I have only done it once because I have only made two wallhangings but I would recommend that 🙂

I’ve only made one wallhanging and it was on the smaller side. I’m planning on making one and I think I’ll do tapestry ends. But if you want too see what I did it’s the Nike one
