stretched looking alphas

soo idk why my alphas look so stretched I've tried embroidery floss, yarn and thin cord thread as base strings but my alphas still ended up looking stretched I've noticed that my knots aren't squares and look rectangular which is probably the reason why they looked stretched. Am I knotting wrong how do I fix this??

You're doing nothing wrong. This seems to be a common issue.Try using thicker base strings. You can also try doubling your base strings. You might also want to try knotting a little more loosely and pushing each knotted row up with a ruler or something similar after knotting it. |
