I would just go from the two outer sides and meet in the middle then switch....

It’s kind of hard to explain with words. But Masha Knots posted a video where she knotted this pattern while talking to the camera. It’s not a tutorial, but you can look at how she knots in the video and then do what she does. The video is called “real time knotting and chatting” and it was posted around a month ago

@EliannaC Masha Knots has a video that teaches you how to segment knot and it is called “Normal Patterns and Segment Knotting Tutorial”. You’ll also find it if you just search “Masha Knots Segment Knotting” on youtube.
