Have you done alpha patterns before? Because this pattern is a multi-colored alpha, and there is no order to put your strings in like normal patterns. If you want to do the pattern in landscape, you need 15 strings. To do the pattern in portrait, you'll need 11 strings. These will be your base strings and they can be any color you choose. If you've never tied alphas before, check the tutorial section. There's tutorials for both the basic 2-colored alpha and multi-colored alphas. It does help to know how to tie the 2-colored alpha before you do the multi-colored ones. Hope that helps!
