Hi I'm stuck on understanding one of the patterns krazyknotz has made and I'm struggling to understand if i cut 8 or 9 strings to get 19 or 18 strings??? Can anyone help meme? its urgent its for my brother and he doesn't like waiting a long time and he will keep asking me if i have done it for him

This pattern has the dimensions 18x20. It has 18 base strings and 20 rows (or the other way around).For 18 base strings, you need 9 strings folded in half if you are doing a loop. If this is the same question you sent me on instagram and you want to include the leading string in the loop and have the other end as one of the leading strings, you need - 8 strings folded in half (= 16 base strings) - 1 halved string folded in half (= 1 base string) - the end of your leading string (= 1 base string) |

If you want to include your leading string in the loop, you have to use one end of it as a base string. That leaves you with the end of your leading string as one base string plus 17 base strings. 17 divided by 2 is 8.5. You've got to fold 8 regular base strings and one 0.5 base string to get to 17. 0.5 in this case means 3 strands instead of 6. A full embroidery thread consists of 6 strands that can be separated. |

Basically i think what she is saying @rose3456-4 is to make one of the strings half the length of the rest or when you are making your strings the string she is talking about you make the full length part of the string and as you are folding it over make the other half of it half the length of the other side of the string. Again idk if im roght but thats what it sounds like to me

@Elyra by "halved string" I mean a string that is split in two. Embroidery thread consists of 6 strands that can be separated. You need to separate it to have only 3 strands.You still need to make it double the length to have the correct length when folded. |
