straight edges built in to patterns

i love this technique so much, and i am now starting to prefer it with almost all of my bracelets. how can i incorporate the straight edges in to any bracelet pattern?

The straight edges technique can only be integrated into normal patterns. It can of course also be used in alpha patterns, but it cannot be portrayed using the braceletbook alpha pattern generator.For normal patterns it is easiest, if you start out designing the pattern with the additional strings for the straight edges technique already in place because the interactive normal generator can only add even amounts of strings on the left edge without disturbing the pattern. Adding just one string on the left edge will disturb the pattern due to the way the generator works. To use the straight edges technique, all knots on the left edge need to be bf knots and all knots on the right edge need to be fb knots.
