so i have made 3 normal patterns on this account and several other normal patterns on another account. My issue is that all of my patterns are just basic. Whenever I try to make something more complicated it comes out as a mess. Do you have any tips?

I recommend using grid paper to plan out your designs. It's sometimes easier, because you can start anywhere in the design and figure it out from there.
