How long should an alpha pattern be?

I'm working on an alpha pattern of the Magic: the Gathering mana symbols, and i want to know how far apart i should space them. What's a good length for a bracelet? (in terms of the listed pattern dimensions)

How big knots (rows) are varies greatly by tension, string size etc. It is better to be slightly shorter since people can add rows at the start and/or end to adjust to however long they need it to be. ๐

I usually make my alpha patterns around 85 rows long. I think that's a good length.
