I don't understand what "dimensions" means at the top of a pattern. how long should the stings be cut

@MaHeNa83 the dimensions give you the amount of knots in a row and the amount of rowsDo you want to knot a normal or an alpha pattern? For normal patterns you cut your strings about 1m each. For some strings you need more or less than that depending on if you do more or less knots than average with it. The dimensions don't really matter for normals when deciding how much string to cut. For alpha patterns the base strings need to be the length of whatever you are knotting plus extra for loops and ties. Once you have knotted an alpha, you can measure how long a certain amount of rows is and use that to calculate how long your base strings need to be for a certain amount of rows. I recommend to just leave the leading strings on the skein and cut them in the end. |
