Base Alpha Strings

So I want to make an alpha bracelets and for the base strings I was thinking that I could maybe use my extra craft cord because I don't like the texture for bracelets and I generally prefer embroidery floss. Would it be bad if I used craft cord for the base and embroidery floss or should I not?

Is the craft cord pretty thick? Or is it the same thickness as the embroidery floss? If they are close in thickness it shouldn’t matter which one you use for your base or knotting string
