I have seen normal patterns that have an odd number of strings in them, but i am confused as to how you add in one extra string like that, any time i try it just auto deletes it from my pattern, im sure im just doing something wrong but im not quite sure what

Hello! I’m sorry I only saw this now! Essentially, that means your knot pattern (the bs and fs) is a bit off. Try reducing a few of the knot #s in the rows & keep playing with it until you get the pattern you want. That’s what I did!

Make sure you have the correct number of knots in each row. If you have an odd number of strings then each row will have the same amount of knots. So if you had 5 strings then each row has 2 knots. If you have an even number of strings the second row will have one less knot than the first. So if you had 6 strings the first row would have 3 and the second would have two. Hope this makes sense and helps.

I always do braided ends for patterns with even numbers and off numbers 🙂
