Why can't we use darker colors (particularly black) in the pattern editor?

It's kind of annoying that it doesn't allow us to submit a pattern that uses pure black. I had to settle for a dark gray and even then the generator output a message complaining about it.

It’s because the grid would be too hard to see if you used a super dark black. The darkest gray you can use without getting a warning is 333333.

@Scaratar it really only matters for the alpha patterns, because if someone decides to follow the grid part it will be hard to see each box if the colours are so dark. 👍

It also matters for normal patterns, too, because if you have solid black it is hard to see the arrows for knots.

It’s mostly for the sake of keeping the grids visible. Just remember to use darker shades when making the actual bracelets.

Because that makes it so that you cannot see the pattern grid and makes it hard for people to make the pattern. so that poses a problem when a pattern is made. That is why. Hope this helps you understand better! Happy pattern making! -@stewon6969 ❤️ |

Maybe try charcoal gray as a substitute for black. you can also leave a comment too.

Yep, just like everyone has explained, it's because we pike to try and keep the grid semi-visible.The closest to black without a warning used to be 333333 but after some discussion about similar colors with Admin, the darkest now it's 262626 🥳 but it can also go lower if there's a reason such as needing more shades of grey to make a greyscale 🙂 |

I'm not sure but I read someone say it was because we wouldn't be able to see the grid which makes sense but it's also very annoying :/

A lot of times i just get as close to it as i think is all right. I dont go super close to the corner. If you want look at one of my patterns and hit add a variation to see the black.

It makes it easier to see the grid, because the grid is black the black string would blend in when you look at the pattern
