Starting Multicolor Alphas

When your starting a multicolor alpha pattern, would it work to just tie all colors you'll be using into the top at first? Like when you make your knot? Then not have to tie any in later? I'm just not sure if it will pull, and I don't want to risk messing up a bracelet. Has anyone tried this? Did it work?

FOr multicolor alphas, the easiest way to tie them is to not to use the background strings, keep them the lengs of the bracelet + braids and use different strings for the knots in the bracelet swapping them in the back ๐
