alpha pattern backsides

does anyone have any good solutions for making the back of alpha patterns look cleaner? i have thought about sewing a piece of fabric to the back of my alphas or even making 2 and sewing them together so it's double sided, but i don't know if the thread showing through would mess up the pattern. pls lmk if anyone has ideas!!

Would the "clean back" technique be out of the question? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCXIzmm0f3c If you've never tried it before, it can be a humbling experience. Maybe it's a matter of the thread I've been using or it's simply a relative lack of skill (I consider myself a beginner with alphas), but I've found that the technique might even work too well. It was quite a revelation to put it to use for the first time, and then pause long enough to take a peek at how things were on the back, and realizing it was turning out better looking than the side intended for display... Picture being worth a thousand words, if you compare the two in the photo I contributed for #218099, you can see the difference--both are clean back, but the green background is showing off the backside. |
