chevron knot help

Hi, So whenever I make a chevon, (or any part of my pattern has a v shape part in it) I find that the knot I make to connect the two sides always ends up looking weird no matter what I do. All of my other knots are neat and normal except for this one, and if I try to pull it tight, it messes up the knots immediately next to it and is really frustrating. Any tips?

Keep tension on the strings you knotted onto or that you are currently knotting onto to keep the knots from flipping.
