Help making a half-circle shaped bracelet

I've been trying to make #204943, but I'm having trouble understanding how the "rind" section of the pattern works. It's difficult for me to tell the kind of knots in the pictures, but I have seen a couple comments on similar patterns mentioning that the start is similar to a triangle end, so I have tried using the rind color to do forward knots on the entire bundle of strings, and leaving out one color after each knot in the order that I need them. Is this correct? I haven't been able to achieve the same smoothness I see in the submitted photos, but I can't tell if this is because I am doing something wrong, or just my inexperience making it slightly wonky.Thanks! |

I may have answered my own question. Would following one half of this tutorial (https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/184_shaped-border-technique/) be what I need to do?
