Hi! So I’ve had some great string and some awful string. Is there any string that you recommend? Or what is your favorite brand of string?
Thanks!

I've always used DMC, my local craft store sells them for pretty cheap which is nice. ln my mother's thread collection there's this two-strand embroidery floss which i've always deeply hated, i very rarely use it if i need a specific color but it's texture is so visible and i dislike it very much.

I like Anchor a lot. The quality is nice, and they have very pretty multicoloured thread options.

@Cami-Knots DMC threads are a safe bet 😉 You can use them for many things: embroidery, regular and alpha patterns, macrame...

I get my string off of Amazon (mini skater) which is 50 strings. I haven’t had an issue with the quality. If I want multi colour string I go to Micheal’s.

I started out with the cheap and twisted like cotton pearl that you can buy at dollar stores or michaels/walmart for cheap, then I tried out loops and threads but when I switched to the packs you can get on temu/amazon/shein for cheap I fell in love. The strings are super soft and easy to use plus I have two giant cones of white and black dmc thread which goes well with my soft threads, I even got a bunch of multicoloured threads and metallics which I like that are easier to use than the dmc version. They don't have a specific brand for what I use but I'm not super picky, I sometimes use dmc special threads or anchor or other brands than I buy off of etsy but I honestly prefer my generic threads (which I think are polyester and cotton) they don't snap unlike my dmc threads and they are comfortable for me to work with (and I notice sensory/texture differences by threads easily)
