Hi everyone!

Is there a way to make a keychain from a normal pattern if one or more colors have an odd number of strings?
I’m familiar with the usual method for alpha patterns (or normal patterns where each color has an even number of strings), but that uses the anchor knot to attach the strings to the metal thing, which always adds two strings of the same color at once.
I thought about using anchor knots and then cutting and hiding one of the strings if necessary, but that doesn’t seem very elegant to me.

You can split strings (3 strands instead of 6 strands) and use both halves of one halfed string folded in half as a regular string.

It’s hard to explain without visuals so I suggest on YouTube you search Empatheeo's video titled: "Teardrop Loop While All Strings Are Different Colors - Step by Step Tutorial I| Friendship Bracelets". It helped me a lot. The loop itself will be bulky but otherwise the bracelet should look pretty normal. I usually make keychains and I’ve not had an issue with that method.

@aguayofabi Thank you very much for your suggestion!
I was actually looking for a solution for a keychain with this metal part (idk how it’s called), but I'll definitely try the teardrop thing ^^

Glad I could help! I almost exclusively do keychains so I understand needing to be able to start with a loop that can connect to a metal thing haha

@aguayofabi
Umm, I was talking about the D-shaped one, sorry for the vague description ^^'
I think if you search for the video 'Turning a Friendship Bracelet Into A Keychain [CC] | Alex's Innovations', you'll find it.
But as already said, I really do appreciate your comment (:
