Running out of a string in the middle of a normal pattern

HI! I am making a bracelet by segment knotting and a little over half way done. I have one single string that is really short 😭what is the best way to replace it with another string of that color/or fix it a different way? TIA!

I hate when this happens! Normally I will kind of do the alpha method when this happens and cut a new string, put it behind the bracelet and attach the way you would with an alpha. Then put the old string behind the bracelet and just continue. (IN MORE DETAIL: To fix a short string, tape a new piece of thread of the same color behind your bracelet and use it to tie the next knot in the pattern while pulling the old, short tail to the back. Continue knotting with the new string for several rows to secure it, then simply trim the excess tails off the back once the join feels tight.) Hope this helps! 😊 |
