Weird Bracelet Knotting

Whenever I make a normal pattern, my knots are weird, especially when I use segment knotting which is what I have started to use for most of my bracelets. The knots are not next to each other; it looks there there is a small bit of string between the two knots. Are my knots too loose? Too tight?

They're probably too loose, if you pull the first half of the knot tighter it should resolve this issue

Agreed - it sounds like your knots might be too loose. If you pull the first half of the knot a bit tighter and keep the tension as you make the second half of the knot it should help fix this.
