Do you make your string longer for larger patterns?

I am currently making an 18 string bracelet. I made it about my wingspan and a half. I used almost all of my new string. Is that too much? It's looped. My wingspan is about 1 1/2 meters long. Thanks!

It's always good to have a bit of extra string! I tend to cut my strings too short :/ especially for wide bracelets so it's definitely good to take a bit more string.
