Base strings on Alpha

I know that it's best when the working strings all have the same thickness. But does it matter if the base strings are thinner (and I mean a lot) than the working strings?

I think that's alright because the knots will still all be the same size

I've used different thickness of thread for base strings before and have encountered no problems other than adjusting my tension just so the knots sit right - but that was when I used thicker thread, so you should be fine with thinner. I would just say to pay close attention to how the knots lay on the base strings and see if they need adjusting slightly. ๐
