Bracelet problem: curling over on itself

I've made plenty of bracelets and most of my friends just wear them for a bit and then save them, that's fine by me. But the bracelets that get the most love and wear always end up curling in on themselves.
I was just wondering if anyone has any tips to fix the curling so that the pattern can be seen and not hidden away.

more strings typically means less curling, also "candy stripe" type paterns tend to want to naturally curl. Think of them as any other fabric. The softer the fabric, the less it will be stiff enough to curl. Try getting it wet and pressing it between two books or steam iron it.

I believe it also has to do with how tight you're tying your knots. I find if I do really tight knots some of them will curl.

If you make bracelets with patterns that are symmetrical/mirrored, then you don't really have that problem, the two sides of the bracelet negate the curling
