How to make base string longer HELP?!

{🙈 I'm right now making pattern #18833 and I think I underestimated the length of the string. How do I make my base string longer do I tie more string to the ends of my base string? 😄 Please anwser it would help a lot! the pattern is 100 rows and at row 29 it was already a quarter done I don't know how to extend my base 🎉 🎉 🎉 string!}

I have never tried this, but here is a option I have heard.Tape a new string by the old one, knot three rows with both stings counting as one base string. Now you can remove the old one. Just continue with the pattern as normal. |

Hey! I add a new string in place of the too short one, and just let the too short one sit there. Then after a few rows i tie both string ends together then cut both.

@niamheero okay...? So I tie the story and long string ends together and then I cut it? If so I have to cut another 37 strings🙄😪🤣

replace it as of you were to replace a leading string, but you will be tying over it and not with it!

I had this issue with the bracelet I just finished! I was able to just tape down a new base string behind the too short one and then tied around both for a few rows before switching to just the new string!
