color changes edges of alphas

So is it impossible to do the flat alpha technique and do a color change on the edge? does it always turn out wonky or is it just me? I usually just add to the edges to fix that but that pattern I'm doing now wouldn't really look good if I did that. My edges are normally straight when I do the straight edges technique, but when I do the flat alpha color change the edges like synch in. Can anyone help me?!?!

on the edges you actually have to still do a normal color change it doesnโt work with the flat one. if you watch all the way through masha knots video on it she explains it

you can do a flat alpha colour switch on the edge however it will mean putting the old leading string through the new one and it will stick out and curve around on the edge of your bracelet. The best way to prevent that is to make a regular colour switch put away the old leading string and use the new one without putting the old one through. ๐
