If you're talking about just from a pattern, the site doesn't give that measurement. It really depends on how long you want to make your bracelet and how many knots each string ties. If a certain color has only one string but ties a lot of the knots in the pattern, you'll want to cut more of that string than the other colors. For general bracelets, I can usually get away with about a yard or so of string for each piece, and I make my bracelets about 5 inches long plus ties. I've heard of some people using the length of their shoulder to their fingertip as a measurement too. Thinner bracelets generally need less string than thicker bracelets.

what i do is is measure the string of my arm span from arm to arm and then put an extra 2-3 inches on it

arms length! you stretch your arms out, to the side and make the thread as long as your hands, i hope that makes sense. for alphas you make your base string as long as the pattern and add another 2 inches
