My backwards knots always come out fat!!

So... I have had the problem where my backwards knots.are way fatter than my forward knots and I can't figure out how to fix it and now I can't make cheveron bracelets or almost any normal because they just look so bad!!! Plz plz plz plz plz help me!

I find what helps me is if I hold down the base string while I'm doing the backward knots and making sure the string that your knotting with is tighter too because if its not I find it can get bunched up. Hope this helps a bit?

@lizzie645 Ok! The I will try that! I have had the problem for a while and now I can't make almost any normal pattern because they usually need backward knots
