So I’m making an alpha, and all the other rows look great, but this one row keeps messing up. The base strings, which are black so they’re really noticeable, and showing in between the two rows no matter how tight I tie it. Is there a solution?

Hi, from what you write here it I assume the reason may be that your strings are too loose, try tying it a bit tighter and later use a ruler to push the row up!!

You could pull on the string in opposite directions when knotting. As in when making a knot, pull the base string straight down or towards you and the knotting string straight up or away from you. And as the above post has said, use a ruler to push the knots up by holding onto the base string and pushing the entire row up. That will help straighten up your rows and also push the knots up. Just be sure to not pull to hard 😊

I would try to push the knots up with your nail

You could tie your knots tighter? Or use base strings of the same color as your leading string
