how big do people tie their knots. are they 1 mm or 1.5 mm?

Mine look to be about 1.5mm for normal patterns. I think it depends more upon the knot tension for how well a pattern will turn out and not necessarily the size of the knots.

The knot size depends on the size of the thread and the knot tension. Tighter knots will result in smaller and shorter knots and vice versa
