this is probably a dumb question, but how do you make a bracelet loop with an odd number of strings, or an odd number of one coloured string?

Hi! Masha Knots has a video on how to make a loop with an odd number of one color of string. Here's the link:

As for an odd number of strings total, I haven't heard of any way to do it. You could try and do the straight edges technique on one side of the bracelet to even out the string numbers, but I don't know if the pattern would look unbalanced if you did that. Here's a video for how to do straight edges if you don't already know:

Anyway, I hope this was helpful in some way! Happy knotting 😄

When I have an odd number of strings in total I will make one of the strings longer than the others when folded in half. I will then make my loop like normal, making sure that I don’t tug on it too much. If it is an alpha, then I will secure the loose end in my pattern and I guess if it is a normal pattern you could do the same thing, I just haven’t done it yet! I hope this helps. Also I kind of just came up with this so there is probably a better way but this is just what I do.
