Changing the colors in an alpha pattern

Just got into making alphas and I’m having a bit of trouble when it comes to swapping the colors, I know how to do it but it never comes out neat and it’s messy, any advice on how I can improve?

It can be kind of hard to explain without actually demonstrating, so I would suggest first watching Masha Knots' video on the flat alpha technique, as that really helped me with my color changes. Then if you still need help, feel free to message me and I'll do my best to help you! 🙂

I would recommend always putting your old leading string all the way behind your bracelet, or else the old color peeks through

The flat alpha technique works pretty good, but make sure to tie your knots tight enough when using that technique so the previous leading string doesn’t poke through. 👍
