I am looking for some metallic and color changing/gradient thread. I keep on seeing super cool photos with them. I have been searching on amazon for hours and have not found any that look right. Can someone please send a link to dome thread they use?

DMC sells a lot of color changing thread (DMC coloris). One of DMC's brands (Prism) also sells bracelet thread, 2 packs having multi color threads (tie-dye pack and neon pack). However, if you want, you can spend some money on dye to color white thread or you can do the color switch technique (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cR0QALBTLMc). As for metallic, DMC also sells Light Effects, which is a collection of metallic thread (with a few exceptions) but you can also buy blending filament thread and then put the strands together until they are thick enough to be paired with string. (I use 12 strands, but it may be different for whatever you find). However, you can also take 1 or 2 strands of blending filament thread and pair it with normal string to make sparkly string.

Links (and I'm sure most of these can be found on Amazon if you can't order from Michaels. The Dharma dye can only be found from their website)

Multicolor: https://www.michaels.com/dmc-coloris-embroidery-thread/M10547807.html | https://www.michaels.com/prism-tie-dye-floss/10238984.html | https://www.michaels.com/variegated-embroidery-floss-loops-and-threads-36ct/10161137.html

Dye (warning, it's a bit expensive. Also the dyeing process is different for each brand so read the instructions) : https://www.michaels.com/jacquard-dye-na-flow-exciter-pack/10624104.html | https://www.michaels.com/tulip-one-step-tie-dye-kit-large/M10236705.html?dwvar_M10236705_color=Neon | https://www.dharmatrading.com/dyes/dharma-fiber-reactive-procion-dyes.html

If you live in an area with Hobby Lobby stores, they have metallic thread in their store brand! It’s the cheapest that I’ve found decent metallic thread. Only issue is is that their black metallic isn’t that metallic.

Red Heart has a sparkly/metallic crochet thread, I believe the line is called croquette, that I found at Joann’s. It’s color changing too! If you wanna take a look on my profile, I used it in my nasa keychain.

Hope this helps! 🙂

I found a good color changing pack at Michael’s by Prism. I have found individual metallics at Michael’s as well, but never like a pack

Idk if you are still looking but lots of bracelet makers on Instagram sell beautiful hand dyed thread. If you are looking to purchase I would recommend @thesagehandmade on instagram (she can even make which ever colors you want for the color changing thread)

This is really late, but personally I wouldn’t recommend metallic thread. It’s just annoying to work with 😂 DMC, anchor and amazon all have great multicolored threads : )

I use DMC color changing thread and the colors are stunning, for more affordable string you can use alitze yarn, I even posted some pictures of bracelets that I made them with. For metallic, you have to be careful as they are mostly bigger than normal thread
