I think its being able to rate more difficult patterns im not sure tho

Once you start ranking up from advanced, nothing changes except you can add more friends and send more messages. Moderators are chosen, its not really a rank. You have to be 18+, and contribute a lot, with patterns, photos, variations, forum posts, etc
