How long should I cut my string?

I was making pattern #3163 , and I was going to make a single colored loop, but I’m not sure how much extra string I should have. I know only one of the strings should be longer, but I’m not sure by how much.

@Katie_bird I recomment cutting the other strings about five and a half feet long, and the string(s) for the loop a little over six feet. However long you think you need to cut your strings, cut a few extra inches because it’s better to have strings that are too long rather than strings that are too short! 🙂 Hope this helps!

I don’t usually use a ruler or measure the length of my bracelet. What I usually do is measure the string by holding one end in my arm, and pulling it to the middle of my chest. Hope this helped! I’m not that good at explaining 😂☺️
