I want to make my first alpha pattern, but I don't know how long my basic strings should be!!! Can you help me please???

Make the base strings 2/3 times the size of your wrist

I recommend you make the base strings 45-50 cm long. 🙂

I would do it your wingspans size if it is like the size of a normal bracelet but halo that size the middle of your chest to one arm etc I hope this helps 🙂

The base strings should be the length that you want the bracelet itself to be, plus around 20-30cm for ties. If you make them longer than that, you’ll be wasting a lot of string. Unlike when you make a normal pattern, base strings don’t shorten because you never know with them, just onto them

Oh and just about any alpha with two colors and no more than 17ish base strings is a good first alpha

I usually make mine about 18inches. 12 for the ties (6+6) and the 5-6 inches for the main knotted part!

They don’t need to be that long. I do about 20cm or a little more depending on how long the bracelet is
