alpha bracelet edges

I cannot seem to get nice straight bracelet edges. I have made sure my knots are all the same tightness yet, the edges are never straight. Some sections bulge more than others. Any advice?

When you are tying your knots try to get the first half of the knot as close to the edge as possible. It still may bulge out a little but otherwise there is nothing else you can do. I hope that helped.

Sometimes it's the string you're using. I noticed that in particular pattern I had made, and upon some investigation I realized that while all my background strings were 5 strand embroidery floss, some of the strings were 6 strand, which caused the bracelet to 'bulge'.
