So, is there any way to make an alpha bracelet pattern into a normal pattern? If not, can someone try to explain them to me? (Like how similar or different they are from the normal patterns and how I can take my knowledge from normal patterns and use it for alpha patterns?)

Not every alpha can be translated into a normal pattern. In an alpha any knot can have any colour. In normals the colours are limited to how the strings can move. You can do it in two ways: - keeping the original design but at a 45° rotation - redesigning the design to keep the original rotation Designing normal patterns isn't always easy and there are many different approaches. If you have just two colours, you can make it as a 1212 pattern: https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/191_guide-to-1212-pattern-designing/ If you have more colours, you have to figure out how the strings need to move and if all knot colours are possible sort of like a puzzle. You draw a pattern grid with circles for each knots and lines in between the knots for the strings: https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/34_designing-normal-patterns/ You draw in just the colours of the knots, then you deduce how the strings need to move. If you discover unsolvable conflicts, it's not doable like this and you need to change some of the knot colours. |

Alpha patterns use the same knots as normals but their structure is different. In an alpha pattern there are two types of strings: base strings and leading strings. The base strings are vertical. You tie onto them with the leading strings. With the leading strings, you always tie full rows of f knots from the left to the right and full rows of b knots from right to left. To make a knot of a different colour, you switch to a different leading string. There are different ways of switching between the different leading strings. Most people use the flat alpha technique for their colour switches. MashaKnots has a good video on it. Some people consider alpha patterns to be easier than normals because you always just knot row-by-row with the only difference being to which colours you switch and when you switch. In my opinion it is definitely easier than designing normal patterns based on alphas, especially if you don't have much experience with designing normal patterns. |

I don't understand your question. Which star? English is not my first language. Maybe you can word your question in another way.Do you have a specific alpha you want to tie or turn into a normal pattern and then tie? |
