alpha pattern endings

Throughout every tutorial I’ve seen, most of them consist of a tapered triangular ending. It’s quite cute but I want to do those endings where it’s blunt but still secure. Perhaps I need to just group two strings at once and keep going foward.. But, if anyone can write out how to do it, please do so! Thank ya!
