Switching colours back to back (flat alpha)

Hi everyone! I’m completely new to alpha patterns, so please bear with me! I’m currently trying to do pattern #174615 and im really struggling with colour switches. I’m using the flat alpha technique, but im having issues when i only need a single knot of a new colour (in my case Black -> White -> Black, like in rows 3 to 5). Every time i switch back to black after using the white for a single knot, the white knot looks super messy and the subsequent black knots turn out wonky too. All the tutorials I’ve watched only show switches that last for several knots, not just one. Is it normal for single knot switches to look wonky, or is my tension/technique off? Any tips would be amazing, thank you! |
