Hey! I’m confused on like alphas in general..
I wanted masha knots tutorial and like her explanation made sense, but doing it on string just messed me up. When you have 2 colors and let’s say ur making a star, black is the background and white is the design. So your doing 5 knots in black then 4 in white what do u do with the black? Because if you don’t knot them together wouldn’t there be a gap in between your 2 colors? Same thing for half and half alphas like one half is white the other is blue how do u not have a gap?

If you use the flat alpha technique, the previous leading string gets inserted into the first knot of the new colour. This connects the bracelet when making colour switches.

If you use regular colour switches, this is not the case. I really recommend watching her video on the flat alpha technique if you haven't already.

If the flat alpha technique video is the one you watched and it's not working out when tying, really make sure that you are doing it correctly. You need to make the first half of the knot of the new colour, then put the old leading string over the base string you are knotting onto and then make the second half of the knot, so the old leading string is between the first and the second half of the knot sandwiched between the base string and the new leading string.
