Hi, I want to make pattern #178524 (https://www.braceletbook.com/patterns/normal/178524/), but I’m not sure how to start it like user FenkaEir whose bracelet was shown at the very bottom. Their bracelet begins with the strands tapered at an angle, while the original pattern starts straight across. How can I achieve the angled beginning? Thank you in advance🙂

That's called a triangle start, and you can find a tut on youtube or in the tutorials section here. You use fb/bf knots to bring the strings into the middle in a triangle shape so you can start the bracelet in a triangular, tapered shape.

I wouldn’t recommend you starting to learn how to make a triangle start with this pattern, since it’s not symmetrical and could be a bit confusing if you’re first starting out. Masha Knots on YouTube’s has plenty of beginner tutorials where she uses the triangle start, I’ll attach some links.

I agree with str6yk1ds, triangle starts are easiest when the pattern is symmetrical (at least at first). A half triangle start could be a good option if you're looking to do something other than a straight start, and Masha knots has a great tut for that 🙂

Here's the link to her TikTok about it, you can prob find a longer, more in depth one too : https://www.tiktok.com/@masha_knots/video/7196434927666171138?lang=en
