Additional solid color rows before and after pattern?

If I wanted to make #185989 but add more rows of white in the beginning before the start of the hummingbird wings, how would I do that? Some of the pictures are like that but I can't figure it out. 🤔

You could repeat a row of fb knots, and a row of bf knots as many times as you want, and then start with the pattern:
