I’m making the cow patterns with the fruits etc, but for a reason I don’t know, every design seems to not hold the shape it’s meant to, it looks like you pulled it and lengthened it. For example, a circle lemon looks like an oval. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. My strings are all same thickness, I pull my knots upwards, can anyone help?
I set my latest bracelet as my pfp for reference

It's kinda counterintuitive if you're used to making normals (took me ages to figure out), but the best way to keep alphas in the right shape is to actually tie the knots looser - not so much that they're unravelling or anything but enough that they're firm but kinda flexible.

Loose-ish knots makes it easier to wiggle the whole thing into looking how you want and makes the 'pixels' more square/round (?). Like, after finishing a row, pushing the knots up flat with a ruler (def recommend doing this btw, it really helps) is way easier and, if a row looks like it's shrunk in a bit you can pull the edges of the alpha so it's wider without it just shrinking right back. Ooh also it helps to cut any longer loose strings on the back - lets the row 'relax' and stops any bulging.

Basically my top tips are -> loose-ish but firm knots, push each row up with a flat edge (like a ruler), and cut any long connecting strings on the back (I usually do when they're an inch or more).
