Are you sure, you are doing the correct knots and the knots are done correctly?An arrow to the right is a forward knot. The left string knots over the right string and the strings switch position. An arrow to the left is a backward knot. The right string knots over the left string and the strings switch position. Arrows that change directions are forward backward and backward forward knots. The strings do not switch position. It sounds like you might have been doing only forward knots or that you tried to do the other knot types too but that you did them incorrectly. I recommend starting with a pattern like #2 to practice your forward knots and backwards knots. Then you can transition to a pattern that also includes forward backward knots and backward forward knots. Make sure that you understand each knot type properly. |

i think im doing the knots correctly but im not so sure of the forward and backward weaving and the back in front weaving .we do it twice ( the knot for it to show) is it the first time we do a forward braid and then the second time we do a backward braid for like the forward and backward weaving and vice versa I also tried doing the number two the Chevron and it just looked extremely messy and it did not look like a Vs a bunch of it was just a bunch of messy straight lines i have this paper next to me and it has all of the arrows and they're labeled correctly and it has how to do a forward braid and the backward braid so I think I'm doing it correctly but I don't know why it's like this my pfp has the bracelet i was attempting #149945 and the paper i was talking about i hope this all makes sense |

My guess: you are not tying the first half of your knots tight enough. The first half determines the position of your knot, and if it is not tight, then your bracelet ends up looking a bit like a net.Maybe practicing chevron with this tutorial by Masha Knots https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCBGya6L7oQ can help? |
